Internet Committee
The Conference Internet Committee (CIC) is responsible for working with the BOT and the fellowship in developing and maintaining SLAA's presence on the internet.
-
The committee will operate on the assumption the Board Public Relations Committee (BPRC) is primarily responsible for oversight. Also, the committee will use the information available at the time to make decisions and then inform the BPRC.
-
The main "recovery area" web pages (preamble, Steps and Traditions, and pamphlet pages) are the responsibility of the CIC and should only be changed or added to by vote of the committee, direction of the BPRC, BOT (Full Board of Trustees) or the Seated Conference of the Annual Business Meeting.
-
Auxiliary page contents, "Service and Community areas" (committee, announcements, notices, the Journal, LDSP, etc.) are the responsibility of the page content author(s) or owner. The page author(s) are also responsible for additions, changes and time limits for their pages. However, the CIC reserves the right to remove controversial items at any time until the controversy is resolved.
-
The committee will post announcements on the web page from any requesting SLAA group or Intergroups in accordance with Tradition 6, the only auxiliary pages the committee will accept are flat pages with no links to outside web sites.
-
The committee will provide editorial assistance upon request.
-
The committee will designate an appropriate filter (person) that acts on behalf of the committee to screen for auxiliary page items, which may be controversial.
-
The web site maintenance person and the committee chairperson, on their computer hard drives, will maintain backup files of working HTML files on the Internet Service Provider hard drives. The chairpersons backup files will be updated when the web site changes, and monthly.
-
A hard copy disk of the entire web sites HTML files will be kept at the FWS office in a safe or safe deposit box (wherever other important documents are kept, to be decided by BOT).
