Did YOU know that the F.W.S. Office:
- gives free information packets to potential newcomers as well as to professionals who may be interested in further information about S.L.A.A.
- provides worldwide meeting information to newcomers, to members moving or traveling to other locations, as well as to other interested parties via the telephone, mail, email, and through the publishing of the World Directory.
- keeps an up to date database of all (approximately 1200) worldwide groups, Intergroups, group contacts, meeting times and dates.
- keeps additional and separate databases for non-conference members and individual F.W.S. Newsletter subscribers.
- publishes and ships more than a hundred thousand pieces of S.L.A.A. literature a year! Including twelve pamphlets, the World Directory of meetings, the soft bound Basic Text, and a bi-monthly publication called the Journal. The Journal consists of S.L.A.A. members articles, poems, and sharings.
- publishes the F.W.S. Newsletter, mails it to groups, Intergroups, and individuals worldwide three times per year. The F.W.S. Newsletter, is sent free of charge to all group contacts and for a small contribution to anyone else.
- provides a place for groups and Intergroups to turn to for feedback and information on group related issues.
- sells groups starter kits and assists new groups getting started.
- works with Intergroups and other S.L.A.A. offices to provide information to our members and to those seeking help.
- supports Conference Committees in their work, providing long distance sponsors, prison outreach to correctional institutes, creating new literature, etc.
- supports the Board Of Trustees throughout the year, during B.O.T. meetings, and by participating on B.O.T. Committees. ** The B.O.T. Governance and Nominations Committee (BG & NC) members and F.W.S. staff are available to offer their experience, strength, and hope to any member or group who would like it.
- responds to national and international media and professional community inquires via the B.O.T. Public Relations Committee and the F.W.S. staff.
- sponsors the Annual Business Conference and Meeting. This involves securing a site, handling logistics, securing housing, food, and audio-visual equipment, handling all aspects of pre- and on site registration, administering the Travel Equalization Fund, obtaining local volunteer help, running the annual auction, processing all monies, and attending to a myriad of other details that arise when sponsoring a conference of this nature.
PLUS! Our annual budget must be maintained so that we may fulfill our primary purpose as stated in Tradition Five, to carry the S.L.A.A. message to the sex and love addict who still suffers.
S.L.A.A., F.W.S. is fully self-supporting according to Tradition Seven. The F.W.S. office does NOT accept any contributions from outside sources. It relies entirely on contributions from groups and their members to support its functioning.
