Conference Delegate Information and Augustine Forum
This page has been created for members of the FWS Conference It is intended to give you a place to get oriented to your position as a Conference Delegate. There will be additions and changes to this page and the contents available here so "keep coming back."
· 2007 Conference Service Manual (CSM) Everything you need to know about being a delegate.
[Note, the Conference Service Manual has not yet been updated for 2008. Below, in three chunks, is the CSM from 2007. The 2008 CSM will be available at the ABM, but will not be posted here. There will be no substantive changes in the body of the CSM so the 2007 version should give you a good sense of what to expect at the ABM.]
- The Conference Service Manual (Most of what you need is in here.)
- SLAA Bylaws (Essential reading for FWS service)
- SLAA Index of Motions (Every motion the Conference has ever voted on.)
· The Business Meeting Item Summary (BMIS)
This is essentially the agenda for the Annual Business Meeting. It is a work in progress between now and the time of the ABM so you will see different versions as the process unfolds. If it seems that there’s nothing on the agenda, just give us a little time to put together the next version and you’ll see all sorts of juicy issues that you can take back to your Intergroup and discuss. The next version should be up by mid-April.
· Tentative schedule for the Annual Business Meeting. We have added a little more time for breaks, and rearranged a few things from last year. Hopefully this will make for happier delegates. In the meantime, please note that there will be two presentations by the Board of Trustees, one on the FWS Budget and the other on the 12 Concepts for World Service. The first is intended to give delegates an opportunity to have direct input into the Fiscal Year 2009 Budget, which will voted on by the Board in September. The second is a chance to discuss how SLAA could adapt, and then adopt, the 12 Concepts, which are a vital set of principles that guide many other 12 Step organizations, but which SLAA has not yet adopted.
· Go to Augustine Forum
The forum is a place for Conference Delegates to meet, ask and answer questions, and generally support one another in doing the work of the Conference.
